In my work, landscape is not merely an image of nature or a specific place. It becomes a space shaped by inner states, time, memory, and the human relationship with the environment. I am drawn to shores, bodies of water, harbours, boats, piers, horizons, various coastal and lagoon-side motifs, reflections of light, and human figures placed within a wider atmospheric space. These motifs allow me to speak about fragility, waiting, closeness, distance, and the transience of being.
In painting, I seek to rework classical landscape imagery in a personal way and interpret it through contemporary painterly language. In my works, the real motif is often abstracted: what becomes important is not so much the recognizable place as a unique colour structure, compositional rhythm, direction of light, specificity of brushwork, the interweaving of surface layers, and the resulting mood. For me, landscape is not a background but an active emotional and philosophical space in which the human figure appears as a quiet, sensitive, and vulnerable mark of being.
Colour plays a central role in my work. It is not merely a decorative element — it creates mood, depth, atmosphere, and psychological tension. I am interested in the layered and nuanced effects of colour, through which painterly space is formed not by direct narrative, but by the persuasive force of light, tone, tonal relationships, and the painterly surface.
At the same time, my creative practice develops within the context of contemporary visual culture. Alongside my painting practice, I use 3D visualization, digital image-making, and artificial intelligence as tools for image research, compositional exploration, and creative thinking. However, technology is not an end in itself for me. It is important only insofar as it helps me understand more deeply the structure of the image, space, light, and the formal and visual logic of the artwork.
Painting remains at the centre of my creative practice — as a way of seeing and reflecting on being. Craftsmanship, a sensitive relationship with the motif, compositional structure, and the ability to express through the image not only what is seen but also what is felt are essential to me.
